I was born in London in 1959 – the year that Agatha Christie published her novel Cat Among the Pigeons and Ian Fleming released Goldfinger. I currently live in Milton Keynes and have had so many homes over the years that the section in my mum’s address book is an inch-thick in correction fluid.
After a long career of running projects and programmes for the private and public sectors in engineering, petrochemical, academic and public service industries, I hung up my corporate boots for a more directly creative profession.
I published my first novel, The Pink Herring, in 2017 and followed it up with The Nor'easter in 2018 - the second in a series of books featuring the criminal psychologist Shaun Young and Norfolk CID.
As jobs go, fiction writing is long, hard and mentally challenging work but it is also the most immersive, creative and rewarding thing I have ever done. Long may it continue…
